Manager Facility Services (International/EU

AAP 2010 CC Chimp Fiffy 010 Large

Organisatie

At AAP, an ideal is given shape in a professional manner: improving the welfare of abused or discarded exotic mammals throughout Europe. They take care of monkeys, lions, tigers and other exotic species in need and advocate for better laws throughout Europe. This is how we combat animal suffering.

AAP has two reception locations: one in Almere (the Netherlands) and one in Villena (Spain). The animals in the shelter come from different backgrounds: they have been victims of the illegal trade, exploited in the entertainment industry or kept as pets while they are not suitable for it. With a professional team, AAP helps the animals get back on their feet as best they can. As soon as they have recovered, they will look for a nice place for them at one of our rehoming partners, such as a reserve or zoo.

Almere employs 95 people and employs more than 200 volunteers. They work at a spacious and modern location, surrounded by greenery near Almere. The office and facility center are on the same site where they take care of the animals; nowhere can you see the result of your work as directly as at AAP on a daily basis. Villena, the branch in Spain, employs about 24 paid employees and 16 volunteers. Be sure to check out the website www.aap.eu and follow AAP's stories on social media!

Facility Services is responsible for the management of all buildings, terrains, equipment and related processes, including safety and security. The increased complexity and number of buildings, terrains and equipment, require a different approach. Firstly to improve facility related processes and drawing up, maintaining and executing multi annual maintenance plans, but also managing larger projects as the energy transition and renovation or full replacement of buildings. With these steps we want to strengthen facility services by adding the tactical and strategical scope. For the year plan execution of daily operations you can rely on two competent local teams, both managed and coordinated by two team leaders. The team in the Netherlands (Almere) consists of 1 team leader, 2 executing supervisors, 1 technical employee, 1 gardener and 1 coordinator for the canteen. In Spain (Villena), the team consists of 1 executing team leader, 1 technical employee, 1 gardener / facility employee. Additionally, we are proud and happy to be able to work with (many) volunteers in both locations.
