Quality Assurance & Compliance Officer (16 hours per week)

Position Summary

This is a new position. The Quality Assurance & Compliance Officer is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality management processes within the organisation. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards and to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our programmes and services.

The Quality Officer reports directly to the Manager Integrity & Compliance.

The Integrity & Compliance (I&C) Team

The I&C team coordinates the development and implementation of the TdH NL Integrity Framework, that includes case management. With regards to Compliance, the I&C team is responsible for maintaining the TdH NL Quality Management System and coordinating external non-financial audits such as ISO, ISO-Partos & Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS). The I&C team consists of: I&C Manager, Legal Officer and Child Safeguarding Officer.

The role of the Quality Assurance & Compliance Officer

Key Responsibilities & core activities of the Quality Assurance & Compliance Officer are:

Support for Quality Management Policies and Procedures

  • Assist in developing and implementing quality management policy, procedures, and standards;
  • Contribute to the documentation of processes and maintenance of the quality management system.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Prepare the annual Audit Programme;
  • Plan internal audits (and ISO certification audits) and the Management Review;
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and Partos;
  • Share the audit report with the auditee, I&C Manager and the Executive Team;
  • Assist in analysing audit results, identifying trends and issues, and proposing improvements;
  • Track the follow-up of Corrective Actions from internal & external audits;
  • Prepare quality reports and analyses for the management team.

Training and Awareness

  • Help develop and deliver quality management training to staff;
  • Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement within the organisation.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders about quality issues and initiatives;
  • Support the handling of complaints and feedback from customers/ stakeholders related to quality.

Core Knowledge & Skills

The Quality Assurance & Compliance Officer has good technical knowledge of the ISO and ISO-Partos Standards as well as experience with maintaining and developing an organisation's Quality Management System, preferably in the NGO sector.

Requested profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Quality Management, Business Administration, etc.);
  • 5-10 years of experience in a quality management or related role, preferably in the non-profit sector;
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, Partos);
  • Skilled in developing, promoting, defending, implementing and executing quality instruments;
  • Experience with change management and undertaking audits;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment;
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language, spoken and written.

  • A 1-year contract with the intention to extend to an indefinite contract after 1 year;
  • The salary scale for this job is scale 9 and depending on experience and seniority the salary ranges between € 3501,97 and € 4461,39 gross per month, based on a full time (36 hrs/wk) contract. For this position this will be pro-rated to 16 hours per week;
  • We work hybrid, so 50% office and 50% from home. Very flexible and with a positive effect on your work life balance;

  • 25 days of paid leave per year on a full time employment basis, if part time, days pro rata;
