Project Assistant International Capacity-Building

Organisatie

Amnesty International (Dutch section) is part of the global Amnesty Movement. Our core business is human rights and we campaign for freedom, equality and justice for all. Amnesty conducts research, campaigns and supports human rights defenders worldwide. That is why we look for colleagues who embrace diversity and inclusion. In the Netherlands, the organization has over 250.000 members and donors. The Amsterdam office employs 100 paid staff and 40 volunteers.

The team “Movement- and Capacity-building – International" aims to contribute in a constructive manner to ensure that other parts of the Amnesty movement and partner organisations across Europe become more sustainable and work in a more robust way. We provide, for example, research & communications methodologies and relevant trainings, guiding documents and advice to Amnesty offices as well as the wider human rights community in order to support them in the promotion of human rights and the formation of a new generation of human rights defenders and activists. The holder of the new position as a programme assistant will join the current team comprising four programme officers, all based in Amsterdam, but will work on two projects involving stakeholders in several countries.

In addition to the substantive work, we believe it is important that Amnesty is a place where everyone feels at home. That’s why we organize various social events, such as lunches, game nights, drinks, and a summer party.
